The Songs of Michael David Wong

Michael passed away in 2009, at the age of 28. He left behind a catalog of demo songs and live band material, which he had hoped to record in a studio but never had the chance.

I started this project in an attempt to complete his dream for him.

The arrangements were created, edited, recorded, mixed and mastered using Suno Studio and  Logic Pro. The arrangements are all created from his original demo performances – this is to ensure that each new arrangement remains faithful to the demo in strictly adhering to its melody, harmony, rhythmic feel and lyrics.

Michael’s vocals from the demos were then superimposed onto the new arrangements.

I remember once, when going to a comedic movie with him, I asked why he wasn't laughing. He replied "I am, in my head". Hopefully these arrangements will extract a cerebral smile from him.
